About Beyond the Couch

At Beyond the Couch, I provide a safe space where clients feel heard, understood, and validated. My giftedness, extensive knowledge, and relatability coupled with the client’s willingness to stretch beyond their comfort zones, allows those who work with me to leave feeling hopeful. Clients will be equipped with a strong set of skills and solutions to deal with life’s challenges in a healthy and productive manner that can be incorporated in their everyday life.

Beyond the couch was birthed from my understanding that in order for counseling to be effective, the work of both the client and the clinician must extend outside the session. “Beyond the couch” is a phrase I started using to encourage clients to implement the lessons and skills taught in their weekly appointments on a daily basis in order to experience long lasting changes. I observed early in my career that clients who applied skills outside of the session on a consistent basis experienced greater benefit.

I am passionate about mental health and breaking the stigma associated with mental illness, seeking help, and therapeutic services. At Beyond the couch LLC, I collaborate with the community to provide education on topics related to mental health.
